September 23, 2016 (San Diego) - After the men played tonight, the Aztecs women’s soccer team took the field at SDSU Sports Deck next for their first Mountain West game against Air Force.
The Aztec ladies came prepared this time and struck early. In the fourth minute, junior forward Aliyah Utush scored a nice goal from the left side to make it 1-0 Aztecs.
In the second half, Utush tallied again in the 58th minute to give the Aztecs a 2-0 lead. They’d hang on till the end to win their first match in Mountain West play of the season 2-0.
Mountain West play continues for the lady Aztec footballers with a noon game against Colorado College on Sunday at noon.
