Ximena Lechuga Gonzalez leads SDSU with a 10th-place finish

January 18, 2019 (Los Angeles) - The San Diego State divers finished 3-meter competition at the UCLA Diving Invitational on Thursday. Ximena Lechuga Gonzalez and Delaney Gallagher led the Aztecs, recording 10th and 18th place finishes, respectively, in the 60-diver competition.
Both Lechuga Gonzalez and Gallagher represented the Aztecs in the finals after advancing through the preliminary round. Lechuga Gonzalez finished her round with a score of 561.50, while Gallagher posted a 514.20.
Lechuga Gonzalez registered a score of 293.00 in the preliminary round, the third highest among freshmen in the meet and eighth highest in the preliminary round. Gallagher's 17th-place score (251.15) in the preliminary round made SDSU one of four schools to have multiple divers in the top 17, joined by only UCLA, USC, and Stanford.
Emily Reed logged a top-25 finish as well, logging a 234.65.
Lexi Letts and Marie Yacopino finished back-to-back on the leaderboard, recording scores of 227.90 and 227.50 to finish 27th and 28th, respectively. Gina Cazares also finished closely to Letts and Yacopino, placing 30th with a score of 225.20.
Erica Sarver and Gillian Garcia finished 44th and 45th, respectively, with tight-knit scores of 200.80 and 200.70.
The Aztecs continue the UCLA Diving Invitational tomorrow with platform board competition.
