April 5, 2017 (San Diego) -  Former San Diego State football center Arthur Flores (Denver) has been named to the 2017 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame announced today. To be eligible for the award, the athlete must own at least a 3.2 undergraduate GPA, complete his final year of eligibility in 2016 and be a starter or significant contributor throughout the 2016 campaign.

Flores, who started all 28 games over the last two seasons at center for the back-to-back Mountain West champions, helped the Aztecs to program records in rushing yards (3,680), rushing touchdowns (34), rushing yards per carry (5.8), points (493) and field goals (21) last year. He was also on the 2016 Rimington Trophy Watch List, which goes out to the most outstanding center in the country, and was one of two SDSU players (also Daniel Brunskill) to earn San Diego State’s President’s Award (highest standard of athletic and academic excellence). Flores was also a two-time member of the Mountain West Fall All-Academic Team (2015-16).
