September 9, 2016 (San Diego) - The Aztecs posted their third straight shutout of the 2016 campaign with a 3-0 win over the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley, while junior forward Jeroen Meefout scored two goals to provide the offensive spark. Senior Michael Sauers also scored on a penalty kick for SDSU, which maintained a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal.
Redshirt junior goalkeeper Adam Allmaras made four saves on the evening for his third straight clean sheet and 13th of his career.
The Aztecs will play host to Memphis to round out the weekend on Sunday, Sept. 11, at SDSU Sports Deck. Match time is set for 1 p.m. PT.
