August 21, 2017 (San Diego) - Pablo Pelaez of the San Diego State men’s soccer team was named to Top Drawer Soccer’s Preseason Best XI Second Team on Monday. The honor comes just under two weeks after being named to the 2017 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Watch List, known as the most prestigious individual award in college soccer.
Pelaez posted two goals and three assists in SDSU’s midfield to earn NSCAA All-Far West Region First Team honors and All-Pac-12 Second Team distinction last year. Top Drawer Soccer also honored Pelaez during his debut season, handing the Mt. Everest Academy product a 2016 All-Freshman Second Team nod.
Top Drawer Soccer released four Best XI teams, including a first, second, third and freshman teams all with 11 awardees each. Pelaez is one of just three Pac-12 student-athletes to be on Top Drawer Soccer’s first or second team, joining Stanford’s duo of Tomas Hilliard-Arce and Foster Langsdorf.
