CAMPUS POLICE ISSUE ALERT AFTER STRONG-ARM ROBBERY

October 3, 2015 (San Diego)—San Diego State University has issued a community safety alert warning that a strong-armed robbery occurred at the corner of Dorothy Drive and Campanile Drive on Wednesday, September 30. At about 5:30 p.m., a man (estimated age 20) walked up behind three students, pushed one and grabbed her laptop, fleeing southbound on foot. The students were unharmed.

The suspect is described as a 6 ft.-tall tall black male of medium build, wearing black shorts, gray short sleeve shirt, and an Angels baseball cap on backwards.

Tips on remaining safe: “The SDSU Police Department offers the following basic safety precautions to all members of our community: Be aware of your surroundings, avoid alcohol consumption to the point of impairment, and immediately report suspicious activity to the police department,” per SDSU bulletin.

This incident occurred within the City of San Diego and is under investigation by the San Diego Police (SDPD Incident #15090062317).
